The Raindance AIR Dynamic Duo: Rain AIR and Whirl AIR

There's no doubt that Raindance is breaking new ground in terms of functionality and design. Indeed, Raindance AIR and its new spray types, Rain AIR and Whirl AIR, have taken the shower revolution to a whole new level. They use special air-water blending technology designed to replicate the interplay of water and air in waterfalls and rapids. Having explored this natural phenomenon, Hansgrohe's researchers and jet-laboratory teams advanced the technology further. They created showerheads and then hand showers with air-injection systems that use water more efficiently, produce a unique, natural-feeling shower spray and open up new dimensions in showering. Having been unveiled at ISH 2005, all the Raindance models in this product line are now available with AIR functionality - including all three types of AIR water sprays.

The Technology

Each minute, a Raindance model with AIR functionality can, depending on the showerhead, inject up to 100 liters [26 gallons] of air drawn in from small openings discreetly integrated in the spray face and (on 3-jet models) the massage jets. This enormous volume of air is blended with 20 liters [5 gallons] of water. Inside the system, many high-speed water sprays collide with streams of air and pulverize them into small bubbles. In a specially designed blending chamber, these bubbles are blended and contacted with the water, ingeniously diverted to the shower face and distributed evenly throughout all the spray channels. The bubbles flow from the showerhead together with the water so that the sprays separate into large, soft, air-enriched drops. When it hits the skin, the water feels softer than the bundle of needle-like "spaghetti" produced by conventional showerheads. It also clings to the body more to improve skin moistening. A vast improvement in customer benefits that you can see, hear and feel: like a second skin, the full-coverage rain spray with thousands of full, gentle drops envelops the body so that bathers experience the warmth more intensely than under conventional showerheads. And that produces a sensation of total relaxation - much to the benefit of the bathers' overall well-being. On all 3-jet models, it's now easy to switch between the different Raindance AIR spray types - people can savor the gentle, soothing patter of rain (Rain AIR), or feel relaxed, massaged and rejuvenated with a concentrated, accelerated full-power stream (Whirl AIR) produced by three rotating whirl jets. If they prefer, bathers can also enjoy Rain AIR and Whirl AIR together. No matter which AIR spray they choose - the injected air will increase the water volume to produce a feel-good experience like none they have had before.

But Raindance AIR isn't just about more volume, more skin coverage, more warmth, more shower quality, more well-being - it's also about more efficiency. Depending on the water pressure, the air-water blending technology can reduce water consumption by up to 10 percent.

Thanks to the new hand shower products and the Rainmaker shower heaven, Raindance can take its place in 2005 as a complete product line that satisfies every need, from compact travel showers to hand showers and overhead showers ranging from 100 mm [4"] to 600 mm [24"] in diameter, with or without AIR functionality and fully compatible with cutting-edge mounting systems through to full-scale shower panels and striking ceiling-mounted showers. It opens up new design horizons for a wide range of highly individual bathroom solutions.
