Environmentally Friendly? Naturally!
Hansgrohe takes its responsibility towards the environment very seriously. Hansgrohe not only develop and produce water-saving fixtures and showers, but also incorporate a comprehensive environmental policy into all of our company's actions.
Hansgrohe's facilities and our products burden the environment as little as possible. Hansgrohe's environmental management is checked regularly through both internal and external audits. The following areas are especially relevant:
- Grinding and polishing
- Electroplating
- Plastics processing
- In-house technologies
Additionally, Hansgrohe has a comprehensive waste management concept; environmental figures gained from production are used as control mechanisms.
In the Offenburg plant, part of the electrical energy is generated by the company's own solar power plant.
Hansgrohe Group Sustainability Report
For Hansgrohe AG, sustainable business management has always been an important issue. The company’s pioneering role in environmental protection is a striking example of this. In line with the tradition of its founding father Hans Grohe, it is part of the philosophy of the company to assume responsibilities over and above profit-making activities. “This is largely about looking after our own employees, but also goes beyond that. Confidence in the activities of the company and recognition of its achievements are major contributing factors towards efficient performance in a sound environment,” says CFO Siegfried Gänßlen. In the day-to-day operations, sustainable business management plays an increasingly important role. Today not only the quality and the design of products are of interest, but increasingly the company’s conduct as a social player.
The way in which the Hansgrohe group perceives its social responsibilities can be read in its first Hansgrohe sustainability report on the company website. This report, which is updated annually, provides information about the activities of the company with reference to the economy, society and the environment. With this sustainability report – the first of its kind by a company in the German sanitation industry –, the Hansgrohe Group would like to succeed in setting a trend that many others will follow.
